Cross Country Ski Tips, Lessons and Informationcross country skiing and skate technique lessons

Welcome to 2023. Thanks for Visiting!
The same reasons that make cross-country skiing an incredible cardiovascular fitness sport can also make it extremely strenuous. The inexperienced first-timer will definitely get a workout but may not find the experience to be the ultimate of fun. On the other hand, a skier that understands technique can ski for hours and still smile about it afterwards. Yes, it's still exercise on each end of the spectrum but side finds enjoyment while the other may find drudgery.

SkiXC.com hopes to make your cross-country skiing more enjoyable through a series of ski lessons and tips that promote energy efficient skiing and the technique for ultimate glide. That’s where the beauty of the sport is: spending your energy looking at the scenery and enjoying the movement rather then fighting it. (Is "Fun Exercise" an oxymoron?)

If you're a never-ever, or just need a quick refresher, start with the Survival Guide under Quickie Tips. This section provides quick tutorials to the basic XC ski technique. Longer and more Techno Babble tips can be found in the Classic, Skating and All-Round sections. Our Resource section provide more information specific to the Nordic sport while our Grab Bag section hopes to provide further entertainment.

We'll be adding more Classic, Ski Skate and Telemark turning technique tips as the site progresses. Give us some thoughts and suggestions and we'll try to personalize your experience in the wonderful world of Cross Country Skiing.
